Who is Bo Burns?

I was born, raised, and educated in Howick, where I still live with my husband and our two daughters. East Auckland is home, and serving our community is what drives me every day.

For 23 years I’ve been self-employed, with our businesses based in the heart of Howick: Eastern Times, Franklin Times, Promo Factory, and Fundraise Factory. I’m not afraid of hard work, and I know it pays off. Over the years I’ve been recognised locally and internationally for innovative ideas, exceptional service, and SME growth. Affectionately known as “Bo on the Go,” I give 100% to everything I do.

I’ve served six years on the Howick Local Board, including the last three years as Deputy Chair. I’m practical, down-to-earth, and focused on outcomes. I listen, I act, and I keep people informed. I don’t over-promise; I deliver.

Beyond the board table, I’m hands-on in our community, supporting local schools and sports, organising and backing events like the Howick Santa Parade and the East Auckland Sports Awards, and championing local businesses through networking and mentoring. I’m proud to be an employer, a connector, and an advocate for East Auckland.
